Lazily hyping this lame Mafia satire as "The Sopranos meets The Crying Game" should get the offending blurb writer fitted with cement overshoes. Set on the Brooklyn waterfront in 1957, Mob Queen concerns the efforts of a pair of low-level hoods, George and Dip (David Proval and Dan Moran), to impress their boss, Joey "The Heart" Aorta (Tony Sirico), by fixing him up with a new prostitute, Glorice (Candis Cayne). Statuesque and gravel-voiced, Glorice is one ballsy hooker--literally--who insinuates herself into the Don's good graces on their first date. Immediately thereafter, the Don is talking marriage, blissfully unaware that his would-be fiancé is no lady. Since this revelation will undercut their career goals, George and Dip must figure out how to deal with this embarrassing predicament. Replete with witless sex jokes and tired stereotypes, Mob Queen deserves a watery grave. Not recommended. (T. Rich)
