You could call it a manipulative tearjerker, but we'd have to keep you after class. Just surrender to this epic drama that spans three decades in the life of Glenn Holland, an aspiring composer who finds his true calling teaching high school music. Richard Dreyfuss conducted himself to an Oscar nomination. Much of this film's power comes from the fact that is inspires us to recall the teachers who have played formative roles in our own lives. On video, this is certain to be voted Most Likely to Succeed. Recommended. (K. Lee Benson)
