After watching this video about the maximum security prison on Alcatraz Island, you almost wish it was still housing inmates. This particular tape focuses on some of the biggest gangsters locked up on The Rock in the 1930's: Al Capone, "Doc" Barker, "Machine Gun" Kelly and "Creepy" Karpis, among others. Enlivened by interviews with former convicts and guards who remember these "public enemies," the program is narrated by Rod Steiger, who played the title character in the film Al Capone (1959).
