Created as an homage to NFB animating pioneer Norman McLaren according to the video box (though the opening credits claim the piece is "inspired by Rene Jedoin"), Quilt is a colorful collage of swirling pattern pieces set to original music. While a pleasant diversion, the film neither matches the inventive verve of early McLaren nor explores any new ground in animation. A very optional purchase. Aud: C, P. (R. Pitman)

This change allows our reviewers to have a wider range of critical viewpoints, as well as to synchronize with Google’s rating structure. This change affects all reviews from March 2022 onwards. All reviews from before this period will still retain their original rating. Future film submissions will be considered our new 1-5 star criteria.
