Well, the Force has certainly been with 20th Century Fox as the re-release of the Star Wars trilogy has posted otherworldly boxoffice returns. However, Ewoks--The Haunted Village is--to put it mildly--a bit of a disappointment (at least in this reviewer's galaxy). Remarkably bland colors--all of the less vibrant shades of brown and green--make up the backdrop against which this predictable tale of good (Ewoks) vs. evil (a monstrous hag) is played out. While some of the scenes are cute, this is more or less an optional purchase for very young members of the Empire. A second volume in the series, Droids, is also available. Aud: P. (R. Pitman)
