It's a slacker version of Waiting for Godot, except that Godot is "the geek who played folk music at the senior prom" and he is now a rock star whose homecoming reunites him with the old gang: aimless twentysomethings who spend their nights loitering outside the local convenience store. Richard Linklater has made some great films about hanging out (Slacker, Dazed and Confused, Before Sunrise), but his casual touch is no match for Eric Bogosian's sledgehammer script based on his own play. Optional. (K. Lee Benson)

Star Ratings
As of March 2022, Video Librarian has changed from a four-star rating system to a five-star one. This change allows our reviewers to have a wider range of critical viewpoints, as well as to synchronize with Google’s rating structure. This change affects all reviews from March 2022 onwards. All reviews from before this period will still retain their original rating. Future film submissions will be considered our new 1-5 star criteria.
