Harry (Daniel Auteuil) is a workaholic sales executive who is estranged from his wife and two daughters. His life is transformed by George (Pascal Duquenne), who has Downs Syndrome and has run away from his spirit-crushing facility. One cringes when imagining what Hollywood would have made of this, but this profoundly moving French film is a little miracle, a "stop and smell the roses" drama that manages to be magical without succumbing to cloying whimsy. Auteuil and Duquenne shared the Best Actor prize at the Cannes Film Festival. Highly recommended. (K. Lee Benson)

This change allows our reviewers to have a wider range of critical viewpoints, as well as to synchronize with Google’s rating structure. This change affects all reviews from March 2022 onwards. All reviews from before this period will still retain their original rating. Future film submissions will be considered our new 1-5 star criteria.
