Alec Baldwin as the Teacher ("When you see him, school's out") is the only reason to sequester yourself with this thriller starring an as-ever humorless Demi Moore as a single mother who is picked as a juror for the trial of a mob kingpin. Baldwin is at his malevolent best as the enforcer who compels her to sway her colleagues to vote not guilty. Anne Heche, as her ill-fated best friend whom the Teacher keeps after school, is an actress to watch, but perhaps not in this. Not a necessary purchase. (K. Lee Benson)

Star Ratings
As of March 2022, Video Librarian has changed from a four-star rating system to a five-star one. This change allows our reviewers to have a wider range of critical viewpoints, as well as to synchronize with Google’s rating structure. This change affects all reviews from March 2022 onwards. All reviews from before this period will still retain their original rating. Future film submissions will be considered our new 1-5 star criteria.
