No doubt John Leguizamo was hoping this would be his Ace Ventura. Instead, it's his Meet Wally Sparks. As con man Pestario Vargas, the chameleonesque character gets to demonstrate his whirlwind versatility inhabiting a gallery of outrageous characters. But unlike his acclaimed one-man shows, Mambo Mouth and Spic-O-Rama, he indulges here in crude stereotypes. The plot, as it were, is a comic take on The Most Dangerous Game, as Pestario, in debt to the Scottish mob (yes, they wear kilts), accepts an offer to be pursued by a head-hunting psychopath (Jeffrey Jones). Not recommended. (K. Lee Benson)
