Even for a movie based on a Stephen King novel (writing as Richard Bachman), this unsavory tale of an obnoxious obese lawyer (Robert John Burke) who's cursed by a gypsy because he ran down the guy's daughter by accident is exceptionally bad. Thin on decent dialogue, plotting, acting, and special effects (the best ones are on the video box, not in the movie), this is not recommended. (R. Pitman) [Blu-ray Review—Aug. 28, 2012—Olive, 92 min., R, $29.95—Making its first appearance on Blu-ray, 1996's Thinner sports a decent transfer with DTS-HD mono sound, but no extras. Bottom line: an unremarkable Blu-ray debut of an unexceptional adaptation of King's novel.]
