A loony psycho-thriller that follows a seminary student targeted by an apparently omniscient serial killer for some wrong committed years ago, filmmaker Robby Henson's Thr3e is an obvious imitation of Se7en, but isn't even half as good. Marc Blucas stars as glum theology graduate student Kevin Parson, the latest intended victim of the notorious Riddle Killer, who informs Kevin that he must confess to some unspecified past crime to save himself. As he tries, with the help of a police psychologist and his closest childhood friend, to unravel the reason for being singled out by the villain, Kevin's unhappy childhood gradually comes to light, including his upbringing in a home that resembles a madhouse, and a run-in with a neighborhood bully. What passes for plot is both silly and incredible, while the big surprise finale is a complete cheat. Thr3e was released by an arm of 20th Century Fox called Fox Faith, designed to make movies for Christian audiences, but it's hard to imagine them (or anyone else) enjoying this. Not recommended. (F.
