For a romantic comedy with a pilfered plot, one-note personalities and a story outline so obvious a monkey could predict every scene, Three To Tango is surprisingly agreeable--up to a point. Friends zinger king Matthew Perry stars as an architect and consummate kiss-ass who, for the sake of scoring a major project, pretends he's gay and agrees to babysit the beautiful mistress (Neve Campbell) of a married tycoon (Dylan McDermott). If you're guessing that he falls in love, you're absolutely right. Freshman director Damon Santostefano artfully dodges the obvious trappings of the story with some screwball humor, but he loses his balance after about an hour, delivering the most mundane last act imaginable. Not a necessary purchase. (R. Blackwelder)
