Slackers and low-level drug dealers Dexter (Scott Speedman) and Royce (Wes Bentley) are horrified when the former's girlfriend Matilda (Taryn Manning) overdoses on their stash and apparently dies. Hoping to avoid the cops by burying her themselves, these losers run smack into a cult of Satanists eager to perform a ritual sacrifice, and when Matilda unexpectedly revives, think they've found the perfect candidate. Weird? No, weird is when the druggies enlist the aid of a group of dwarves dressed like medieval knights. Director Allan Moyle and writer Willem Wennekers have employed a desperate everything-but-the-kitchen-sink approach to comedy here, apparently in the belief that if enough wacky elements are tossed into the mix, a few of them are bound to provoke laughs (uh, wrong). Put simply, there's no joy in Weirdsville. Not recommended. (E. Hulse)
