A traveling shoe salesman named Paco (Sergi Lopez) has both his car and entire shoe inventory stolen by Nino (Sacha Bourdo), a Russian immigrant hitchhiker who leaves Paco stranded by the side of the road. A few days later when Paco spots Nino, who is now on foot (in new shoes, I might add), he gives chase and then thoroughly trounces the thief, putting Nino in the hospital. After the now penitent Paco pays the recuperating Nino a few visits, the two men become friends, and later decide to hit the road together for a few weeks. What follows are their misadventures, romantic and otherwise, as they tour the countryside of Brittany. Though an immensely amiable dramedy, this roadshow is more road than show, with little but its modest charms to buoy it. Optional. (S. C. Sickles)
