The improbably named title character is an obnoxious 36-year-old male (Eric Schaeffer) with terminally adolescent tendencies (i.e., he can't stop lusting after every woman he sees). A seasoned commitment-phobe who just happens to be getting married in nine days, Spindell is "having more second thoughts than he's had second dates." While this could easily be funny material in the right hands, here it plays like an R-rated sitcom. With his big-time macho attitude expressed through annoyingly whiny voice-over, Spindell's ruminations are like listening to fingernails on a blackboard, and the flashbacks illustrating how this smartass child is father to the (ahem) man are practically insufferable. Not recommended. (T. Rich)
