Filmed at Bellingrath Gardens (during a lovely sunrise) and the Bon Secour National Wildlife Refuge, this program features Russian born Nadia (no last name) teaching two students ashtanga yoga. Though the title suggests a beginner level how-to, the video lacks an introduction (Nadia begins the first pose without any opening remarks), many postures were called out by their formal names without a clear definition of each individual pose, and the pace was quite fast, especially for new pretzels-in-training. What I did like about the tape was that while Nadia's constant direction (and correctives) sounded a bit on the military side, her attention to proper alignment and breathing techniques will truly help form good habits for the targeted audience. In the final segment, Nadia completes a superb sequence of advanced poses that resembles water ballet, accompanied by beautiful quasi-percussion/chant music by Gabrielle Roth and the Mirrors.
