A constant "black hole" in libraries, materials which address college entrance examinations are always sorely needed. Ace the SAT, written and hosted by Suzie Vlk, is an informative and affordable 'tour' through the Verbal and Math sections of the SAT. In the Verbal section, Ms. Vlk covers strategies and sample questions on Antonyms, Analogies, Sentence Completion, Reading Comprehension, Usage, and Sentence Correction; the same is done for Math in the areas of Quantitative Comparisons and Problem Solving. While many of the tips are applicable to several of the SAT test sections, thus making portions of the program repetitive, the overall quantity of information and guidance given will be helpful to students who are going in 'cold'. A 64-page booklet, listing additional problems and tips, is included with the tape. Additional copies of the booklet are available for $3.95 each. Recommended for both public and high school libraries. (Available from: Intermedia, Inc., 1600 Dexter Avenue North, Seattle, WA 98109; 1-800-443-0100 [ext. 209S].)

Star Ratings
As of March 2022, Video Librarian has changed from a four-star rating system to a five-star one. This change allows our reviewers to have a wider range of critical viewpoints, as well as to synchronize with Google’s rating structure. This change affects all reviews from March 2022 onwards. All reviews from before this period will still retain their original rating. Future film submissions will be considered our new 1-5 star criteria.
