Following an introduction by physician and author O. Carl Simonton which curiously mixes medical, spiritual, sports, and business terminology, this program--ostensibly aimed at patients who are healing--combines nature footage, a New Age music soundtrack, and onscreen "affirmations" to help viewers on their "wellness journey." Tending towards the banal and vague, these "affirmations" include such gems as "I am uplifted by my health care team;" "envision yourself as one with the universe;" "receive the light to share with others;" and "savor the freshness of life's elixir." These inspirational retreads are followed by a guided imagery meditation at the close of the video which exhorts viewers to consult and work with their "inner guide," an utterly nebulous, undefined critter. Jan C. Nickman's nature photography is, as usual, top notch, the background music is soothing, and I've no doubt the producers meant well; however, the vapid fuzziness of the affirmations make it hard to take the program seriously. Not a necessary purchase. Aud: P. (R. Pitman)
