HIV leads to AIDS inevitably--period. That's the currently debatable question that is presented as an AIDS fact in this generally correct but dourly oversimplistic assessment of AIDS. A young on-camera host explains, in very general terms suitable to younger viewers, how the immune system attacks foreign substances, but fails to ward off the HIV virus. In addition, the program points out the many ways that the HIV virus is not transmitted, as well as the ways it is: through unprotected sex, needle sharing, and from an HIV-positive pregnant mother to her baby. The message for younger viewers is twofold: don't have sex, and don't do drugs. Unfortunately, the video seems to have been made with no idea or recognition of the very substantial steps the medical community has taken in the war against AIDS and therefore offers a somewhat misleading portrait. Not recommended. Aud: E, I. (R. Pitman)

Star Ratings
As of March 2022, Video Librarian has changed from a four-star rating system to a five-star one. This change allows our reviewers to have a wider range of critical viewpoints, as well as to synchronize with Google’s rating structure. This change affects all reviews from March 2022 onwards. All reviews from before this period will still retain their original rating. Future film submissions will be considered our new 1-5 star criteria.
