AJ Bonar takes a philosophical approach to golf in this three-disc series that employs a modified lecture/demonstration format, as the viewer joins AJ in the outdoor classroom on a golf course with other golfers. In the first volume--divided into three generic-sounding parts: “The Search for the Truth,” "The Discovery of the Truth," and "The Application of the Truth"--Bonar turns the preconceived notions of golf upside down, discussing how balls fly, how the club should fit in the player's hands, and how to achieve correct contact with the ball (it's not the swing!). The second volume, "The Truth About the Short Game," concentrates on those last 20 yards or so, while the third volume, "The Truth About Putting," offers tips on those perennially troublesome four-foot putts. While the metaphorical explanations get a little long-winded at times, the concepts are solid, and the series includes plenty of practical tips and techniques for both beginners and veterans on the links.
