Biomechanical scientist Katy Bowman hosts this program designed to help viewers alleviate common ailments (headache, neck tension, tired eyes) through simple movements. Likening the process to wheel alignment in a car, Bowman explains that viewers can get “better health through better mechanics” and uses “Rx…ercises” methods such as “floor angels” (bolstered by pillows with palms face-up), the C-shaped crescent stretch, the rhomboid push-up, head ramping, and head hang in order to loosen up the body. Also featuring a bonus “Human Physics 101” segment on the body, DVD extras include a printable exercise program. Other titles in the series include When Your Doctor Prescribes Exercise, When You Hurt All Over, When You Can't Breathe, Get Your Balance Back, and Smart Digestion. Although drier and more verbose than your average music-pumping exercise routine, this is still a strong optional purchase. [Note: also newly available is Aligned and Well: Fix Your Feet.] Aud: P. Star Ratings
As of March 2022, Video Librarian has changed from a four-star rating system to a five-star one. This change allows our reviewers to have a wider range of critical viewpoints, as well as to synchronize with Google’s rating structure. This change affects all reviews from March 2022 onwards. All reviews from before this period will still retain their original rating. Future film submissions will be considered our new 1-5 star criteria.
