Intended to teach independent living skills to young adults, this well-done tape discusses via narration and dramatization most facets of apartment renting: costs, renting vs. buying, needs vs. wants, locations, lease agreements and security deposits, tenant's insurance, moving decisions, and more. Not really mentioned are quality-of-life subjects such as quiet and privacy from neighbors, both of which can be compromised in communal living. Most of this information can be obtained in previously published books and brochures, so an $80 video might not be necessary to your collection, but this one is fairly comprehensive, yet concise, so might be useful where literacy- or attention-levels are low. Star Ratings
As of March 2022, Video Librarian has changed from a four-star rating system to a five-star one. This change allows our reviewers to have a wider range of critical viewpoints, as well as to synchronize with Google’s rating structure. This change affects all reviews from March 2022 onwards. All reviews from before this period will still retain their original rating. Future film submissions will be considered our new 1-5 star criteria.
