A Canadian television series examining child care for the first year of life, Baby Days' 13 episodes are now available on 6 videocassettes. Health, First Aid, Baby's Emotions and Intelligence covers such diverse topics as vaccines, circumcision, CPR, emotional and intellectual growth, and developmental benchmarks at six and seven months. Not surprisingly, viewers learn that brain development depends on time spent playing, reading, and talking with babies, rather than the amount of stuff you buy them. While most of the other volumes would probably be equally valuable on both sides of the border, this particular program is recommended only for Canadian libraries, since immunization recommendations are different in the two countries (Canadians immunize for five diseases, whereas up to eleven illnesses are covered in the four inoculation batteries in the U.S.). The other titles in the exceptionally comprehensive Baby Days series are: Feeding Your Baby & Birthing Options; Sleep, Post Partum Issues, Fatherhood; Exercise After Pregnancy, Infant Massage, Fashion & Seasonal Concerns; Playing with Baby, Child Care and Safety, Travel & Treasures, Multiples & Siblings. Star Ratings
As of March 2022, Video Librarian has changed from a four-star rating system to a five-star one. This change allows our reviewers to have a wider range of critical viewpoints, as well as to synchronize with Google’s rating structure. This change affects all reviews from March 2022 onwards. All reviews from before this period will still retain their original rating. Future film submissions will be considered our new 1-5 star criteria.
