Getting boys to participate in a ballet class is probably even harder than getting girls to attend a video game convention, but someone has to do the heavy lifting…and gracefully at that. Ballet for Boys, taught by renowned instructor Richard Glasstone, suggests avoiding technical terminology for the youngest students, in particular, instead relating some of the moves to easily understood activities, such as bending to look for sweets in a cupboard, actually finding them on a high shelf, and then lunging at a brother who is trying to swipe the candy away. Focusing on two groups of beginning dancers--young boys and high school/college-aged young men--the program demonstrates rising, turning, jumping, darting, bending and extending, concluding with a professional dancer demonstrating all of the moves taught. Star Ratings
As of March 2022, Video Librarian has changed from a four-star rating system to a five-star one. This change allows our reviewers to have a wider range of critical viewpoints, as well as to synchronize with Google’s rating structure. This change affects all reviews from March 2022 onwards. All reviews from before this period will still retain their original rating. Future film submissions will be considered our new 1-5 star criteria.
