Using an animated character (a kind of yellow happy face shaped like a Hershey's kiss named TC for "totally confused"), this brief introduction to Windows 95 takes viewers on a quick overview of the taskbar, various menus, a brief demo of WordPad, and, of course, the really important things: how to change the desktop look and play with fonts. There's a short intro to the Internet which barely scratches the surface, but all in all, this simple guide is easy on computer novices. Unfortunately, there are at least three other overviews offering twice the information at half the price--Windows 95 Without Headaches (VL-5/96), Brit Hume's Survival Guide to Windows 95 (VL-3/96) and Learn! Microsoft Windows 95: Getting Started (VL-1/95). A good program, but not the best choice. Aud: J, H, P. (R. Pitman)

Star Ratings
As of March 2022, Video Librarian has changed from a four-star rating system to a five-star one. This change allows our reviewers to have a wider range of critical viewpoints, as well as to synchronize with Google’s rating structure. This change affects all reviews from March 2022 onwards. All reviews from before this period will still retain their original rating. Future film submissions will be considered our new 1-5 star criteria.
