The second volume in the Basic How-To Halloween Makeups series (the first was reviewed in our July-August 1992 issue), this program features makeup artists Bill Morrison and David Lange demonstrating step-by-step applications of 10 new faces. While the video quality on the medium shots is poor, the close-ups are passable. The makeups included in this volume are: mummy, old man, phantom, gargoyle, creature, robot, swamp creature, evil clown, Dracula, and ghastly ghoul. Compared to the earlier volume, however, these "faces" seem much less imaginative and detailed. Due to the low price, and seasonally popular subject matter, libraries may still want to consider. An optional purchase. (Available from: Tempe Video, P.O. Box 6573, Akron, OH 44312-0573; (216) 628-1950.)

Star Ratings
As of March 2022, Video Librarian has changed from a four-star rating system to a five-star one. This change allows our reviewers to have a wider range of critical viewpoints, as well as to synchronize with Google’s rating structure. This change affects all reviews from March 2022 onwards. All reviews from before this period will still retain their original rating. Future film submissions will be considered our new 1-5 star criteria.
