Jonah Levy is the host for this four-part series on stage make-up aimed primarily at school and college theatre departments. We watched the opening volume which contained a long list of needed items, and then offered two demonstrations: applying foundation to a young woman and a prosthetic nose (think Cyrano) to a young man. There's no clear reason why the four tapes couldn't have fit on a one-hour video (except for the fact that people may feel better about the exorbitant price if they're getting four videos), and--if the first program is any indication--there's no sense to the order of instruction; foundation, yes, but is a prosthetic nose really the second item people think of when applying stage make-up? We think not. A very optional purchase. For a better bargain try Face to Face: An Amateur's Video Guide to Performance Makeup (VL-7/93), which offers 5 hours of instruction on three videocassettes for $49.95 total. Aud: I, J, H, C, P. (R.
