I've always told my dear husband that 80% of his taste was in his mouth, now a professional chef tells me you've got to make food look great because 80% of taste is in the eye. What do I know? Ed Kane, an award-winning chef and co-author of Dining Out in Las Vegas, demonstrates with easy-to-follow directions how to create a cornucopia of edible table decorations: radish blossoms, a turnip daisy, melon swans, apple birds and a squash goose. Each is so absolutely easy to make that, trust me, your culinary creations will amaze even your most been-there-ate-that friends and family. After watching this video I actually garnished a salad with a tomato rose. Unfortunately, when I left the table to get the ketchup and returned, the rose was gone and my husband's cheek was unusually big. What a zucchini head! You know, I learned something though--a lot more than 80% of my husband's taste is in his mouth, and next time, I'll make a cute unassuming petit pepper rose...with jalapenos. No frills instruction, good close-up shots and plenty of examples make this program an excellent addition to both schools and public libraries. Highly recommended. Aud: J, H, P. (N. Plympton)

As of March 2022, Video Librarian has changed from a four-star rating system to a five-star one. This change allows our reviewers to have a wider range of critical viewpoints, as well as to synchronize with Google’s rating structure. This change affects all reviews from March 2022 onwards. All reviews from before this period will still retain their original rating. Future film submissions will be considered our new 1-5 star criteria.
