An excellent introduction for beginning seamstresses, this program was written by and features Lina Ingraham, who is an amiable and knowledgeable instructor. Viewers are taken from step one-selecting a pattern-through the completion of a simple blouse and skirt set. Along the way, Ingraham visits a fabric shop to discuss the qualities of various fabrics, and points out the tools necessary for sewing. There's also a good section on how to thread the sewing machine. Good close-ups, solid information, and a pleasing format, make this a good choice for both home economics classes and public libraries. Highly recommended.
