The ancient art of bellydance is transformed into a modern-day fitness routine by the smiling twins Veena and Neena Bidasha, experts in rolling their hips and curling their torsos to sumptuous Middle Eastern music. The young women begin with a stretch and warm-up that limbers up the upper body, while imparting some basic moves. Subsequent instruction adds leg movements, the rib slide, the shoulder shimmy, hip twist, hip drop, and hip circle. By the time the routine is ended, not only are we toned from neck to toes, but we're looking pretty sinuous and exotic. The voice-over instructions are uniformly excellent, and very well matched to what we see the women doing onscreen. A great choice for library patrons tired of high impact, rock 'n' roll aerobics, or looking for an alternative to new age yoga and tai chi workouts, this pleasurable and sensual exercise tape is one you won't mind practicing in front of your boyfriend. Highly recommended. The other three tapes in the Bellydance for Fitness series are: Arms & Abs, Fat Burning and Hips, Thighs & Buns. Aud: P. (E. Druda)
