This is a rather expensive filmstrip-to-video transfer which covers the basics of bicycle safety. After a brief introduction, the program goes on to discuss the importance of having the right equipment (with particular emphasis on wearing helmets), the basic "rules of the road" (proper hand signals and directions in traffic), riding in a group, dealing with obstacles (railroad tracks, grates, etc.), weather safety, and personal health as a cyclist. The information is sound; however, there are more thorough and less expensive programs on the market (D.I.Y.'s two-volume Bike Tripping is a good alternative at $19.95 ea.) Those who feel that bicycling is a major activity in their area might want to consider this as a supplementary title; for others this is not a necessary purchase. Star Ratings
As of March 2022, Video Librarian has changed from a four-star rating system to a five-star one. This change allows our reviewers to have a wider range of critical viewpoints, as well as to synchronize with Google’s rating structure. This change affects all reviews from March 2022 onwards. All reviews from before this period will still retain their original rating. Future film submissions will be considered our new 1-5 star criteria.
