Okay. I'll say a phrase, and you say the first thing that comes into your head. Me: Long fingernails. You: Boxing. Me: Pink gloves. You: Boxing. Me: Wow--you're good! Dark red lipstick. You: Boxing. Me: You cheat! You've seen this video! Boxing ain't just for men with bad attitudes anymore as knowledgeable boxing coach and fitness trainer Cappy Kotz proves in this exercise video aimed at women interested in the fine art of boxing and body conditioning. Kotz clearly instructs Lisa and Kelly (owners of the aforementioned fashion accessories) as they demonstrate the proper way to hand wrap and wear gloves (including how to support the wrists and knuckles); boxing basics, including the stance, jabs, and the hook; and a basic conditioning workout using the speed bag, the heavy duty punching bag, the jump rope and a variety of floor exercises. Unfortunately, the box promises to give viewers skills in a crisis situation (which it clearly does not do), as well as teach emotional control (wailing on an inanimate object may wear you out, but I'm not convinced it will turn you into an even-headed person). Still, the basic info here is solid and the market isn't exactly crowded with contenders. Recommended. Aud: P. (N. Plympton)
