Who wouldn't want a new baby to be smarter, happier, healthier, and better adjusted? According to author and new mom Brenda Adderly, these are all benefits of baby massage, and she demonstrates the techniques for rubbing their cute lil' arms, legs, tummies, and toes, while explaining the bennies. In addition to calming the baby (and mother), Adderly claims that baby massage promotes social skills, helps digestion, improves IQ, builds dexterity, and improves posture. While you might want to take some of these claims with a medical grain of salt, this program does provide a good overview of the various strokes and rhythms used in baby massage (although special massages for special needs babies would have been a welcome addition), Ms. Adderly offers decent instruction, and...well...the babies are cute! Star Ratings
As of March 2022, Video Librarian has changed from a four-star rating system to a five-star one. This change allows our reviewers to have a wider range of critical viewpoints, as well as to synchronize with Google’s rating structure. This change affects all reviews from March 2022 onwards. All reviews from before this period will still retain their original rating. Future film submissions will be considered our new 1-5 star criteria.
