Bring Back the Romance of Dance: Instruction Series Overview

Greg Gale and Nancy Hays offer a solid introduction to the basic dance steps of the Fox Trot, Swing, Rumba, Waltz, Cha Cha, and Tango (also known as the see-if-you-can-nuzzle-your-partner's-privates-with-your-knee dance). In an odd, but fairly effective, format, viewers watch Gale's legs and feet demonstrate the moves, followed by Hays', before the camera shifts up to examine arm positions. Once the lower and upper torso moves have been dissected and explained, the couple is shown re-united (like at the end of a magician's trick) dancing to music. While not quite as fun as Ballroom for Beginners (VL-5/97), the fine instruction and extra dances of this entry make this a good complementary purchase. Recommended. Aud: P. (R. Pitman)
