My first clue that we were no longer in Kansas anymore, Toto, came when host Anne Wenn--in a distinctly British accent--started talking about prams and pushchairs, pointing out which would and wouldn't fit in the car's "boot" (that's "trunk" for you Americanos). Not nearly as shamelessly commercial as U.S. counterparts (no extreme close-ups of manufacturer's names), Buy Smart, which offers a basic overview of prams and pushchairs (i.e., carriages and strollers), car seats, cribs, a "Moses basket," and play pens, is unlikely to be of much use to North American viewers. So, while I truly enjoyed hearing the word "whilst" properly used in a sentence--which you just don't run across that often in American English--and whilst I do believe that most things Anglo receive a warm welcome stateside, I'm afraid this one really belongs on tellys on the other side of the drink. Not recommended in the U.S.; optional in Canada and England. Aud: P. (R. Pitman)

Star Ratings
As of March 2022, Video Librarian has changed from a four-star rating system to a five-star one. This change allows our reviewers to have a wider range of critical viewpoints, as well as to synchronize with Google’s rating structure. This change affects all reviews from March 2022 onwards. All reviews from before this period will still retain their original rating. Future film submissions will be considered our new 1-5 star criteria.
