An excellent introduction to issues surrounding childhood depression, featuring interviews with children, parents, teachers and psychologists, this straightforward, no-nonsense video from The Doctor Is In series packs volumes of useful information into 28 expertly-edited minutes. Viewers will be given tips for diagnosis, a list of common symptoms, and descriptions of depressive episodes. In one disturbingly familiar sequence, a psychologist makes a compelling connection between neglecting depressed children and violence in schools. On the minus side, the video refers to several books which are not mentioned on the video's jacket, and a URL shown on the final screen is no longer available. Aside from these minor faults, this is highly recommended. Aud: C, P. (K. G. Schneider)
