Featuring a veritable “laundry list” of tips and hints to help viewers maintain their wardrobes, Clothing Care is hosted by “Clothing Doctor” Steve Boorstein, a former clothing store and dry cleaner owner (whose clients included Linda Carter, Elton John, and Mikhail Baryshnikov). Broken down into easily accessible chapters, the program—co-hosted by stylist Beverly Green—features information on shopping for apparel (paying attention to fabric and care instructions), deciding on when to self-wash and when to dry-clean, and techniques for removing stains (blotting with a dry white cloth, how to deal with “invisible stains” such as white wine or citrus, etc.), as well as suggestions for finding a quality dry cleaner, maintaining home washers and dryers, seasonal storage, and much more. Although name brands are specifically mentioned (Tide, OxiClean, etc.), the general guidelines here are solid, sensible, and sure to be appreciated by wardrobe-and-budget conscious viewers.
