Some people feel about clowns and mimes the way I do about magicians: no matter how hard I concentrate on the movement of the magician's hands, wands or pretty assistants, I am still bamboozled into frustration and end up hoping the rabbit will bite the prestidigitator. Despite the best efforts of amiable coin magician Michael Ammar, viewers' rewind buttons will get a workout as they try to follow his step-by-step instructions which will take them from simple 'palming' to tricks with exotic names such as "Sonic Squeeze," "Spider Vanish" and "Tricky Trousers." Fortunately, Ammar's explanations are clear and concise, and while he doesn't rush through the tricks, novices will gain a healthy respect for the coin magician's art while they practice, practice, practice. Recommended. [Note: a companion volume, Exciting World of Magic, is also available at the same price.] Aud: P. (J. Carlson)

Star Ratings
As of March 2022, Video Librarian has changed from a four-star rating system to a five-star one. This change allows our reviewers to have a wider range of critical viewpoints, as well as to synchronize with Google’s rating structure. This change affects all reviews from March 2022 onwards. All reviews from before this period will still retain their original rating. Future film submissions will be considered our new 1-5 star criteria.
