Confirmation (the act of being “strengthened and confirmed in faith”) is the sacrament that completes the cycle of initiation into the Christian family that began with baptism, penance, and the taking of the Eucharist. Part one of this instructional program provides a clear and effective overview of the sacramental system, in which clergy discuss the history of the sacrament, along with its biblical associations and its evolution through the centuries in both Eastern and Roman Catholic churches, and describe the essential elements of the rite, which consists of the laying on of hands and anointing with chrism (a mixture of olives and balsam). Part two features actual ceremonies, and includes comments from the recipients. As with other fine Videos With Values productions, Confirmation provides clear, authoritative, and entertaining preparation for a milestone sacrament, and is suitable for both children and adults interested in completing their formal religious training. Star Ratings
As of March 2022, Video Librarian has changed from a four-star rating system to a five-star one. This change allows our reviewers to have a wider range of critical viewpoints, as well as to synchronize with Google’s rating structure. This change affects all reviews from March 2022 onwards. All reviews from before this period will still retain their original rating. Future film submissions will be considered our new 1-5 star criteria.
