Both of these videos accomplish what a pamphlet probably wouldn't--they instruct the patron in the proper care of library materials (Handle With Care), and in how to use the library as a tool for putting together a research paper (Cover All Bases). The earlier title, Handle With Care features an amiable but bumbling young man who manages to do most of the wrong things that one can do with a library book, including placing it on a radiator, reading in the bathtub, and breaking its poor back on the copy machine. Good sound effects complement the simple visual style. The second title, Cover All Bases, is a funny, visually arresting, and superbly acted mini-play about a young man trying to overcome mental blocks and find the correct route to creating a successful research paper. Choosing baseball as his topic, he consults the reference librarian, learns how to use both the card and online catalogs, and searches periodical indexes and reference bibliographies for articles and books specific to his topic. Both titles are highly recommended. (Available from: New York University Libraries, Collection Management Office, 70 Washington Square South, New York, NY 10012.)
