In 1986, some 40 million Americans knew how to perform CPR. It is this program's aim that that number should be raised to 200 million. After discussing the importance of CPR, in light of the 1.5 million Americans who suffer heart attacks each year, the program moves into the exhaustively thorough instructional segment. Glenn and Janet Sinks demonstrate the correct breathing and chest massage techniques for successful CPR with adults, children, and infants. In addition, this video covers the Heimlich Maneuver (again for adults, children, and infants) for rescuing choke victims. The program concludes with suggestions for contacting the American Health Association and the American Red Cross for more information. CPR: The Way to Save Lives is an excellent instructional video, featuring slow-motion repeats, clear close-ups, and informative narration. Highly recommended.
