America's exercise guru, fitness expert extraordinare and my very own personal video trainer Denise Austin is back, and she's on a mission. Her task? To rid Baby Boomers of sagging arms and butts, middle aged spread, and the notion that Saturday Night Fever music is still happening. She's ruthless. With 20 minutes of fat burning aerobics, followed by a 10 minute body sculpting and reshaping workout (ouch...Bend Me, Shape Me never sounded like this!), plus 10 more minutes of stretching and screaming, if you're still (as Austin is fond of saying), "giving everything you've got...all 110%," then fellow Baby Boomers, the fat is flyin'. Stationed behind Austin and her exercise assistants, an on-camera 'live' band plays oldies such as "Happy Together," "Joy to the World" and "Good Vibrations." I couldn't help noticing that the saxophone player (who was also the lead singer) sometimes ends up doing both--simultaneously, as in, 'Oh it's my sax solo, no, it's my vocal solo, no, I'm blowing, no singing...oops, I'll just shake my head like Paul. Yeah, yeah ooooh!' Though somewhat distracting, I welcomed the chance to think about somebody other than me, me, ouch, me. Another solid gold addition to the fitness genre. Recommended. (N. Plympton)
