Okay Mouseketeers, let's put on our thinking caps (the ones with the black plastic ears!): What was the significance of Mondays on our favorite TV show? That's correctimundo; Monday was "Fun With Music Day" (according to Alex McNeil's Total Television; I certainly didn't remember). Music has always been an integral part of the Disney magic, and some of the most popular songs of the century have come to us courtesy of The Mouse. In this colorful introduction to music, a multicultural cast takes viewers on a whirlwind tour of The Woodwind Family, The Brass Family, The Voice Family, The String Family and Rhythm & Percussion Families. We watched the bonus video, Music Overview (free with the purchase of the set) which provided a general introduction to music and a quick tour of each of the musical families. Combining commentary from the young co-hosts, choice animated sequences (such as The Sorcerer's Apprentice scene from Fantasia), and live-action demonstrations from beloved Disney songs ("Zip-A-Dee-Doo-Dah," etc.), Disney's World of Music Discovery is a visually (and audibly) entertaining introduction to one of our greatest cultural achievements and pleasures--music. Recommended. Aud: E, I, J, P. (R. Pitman)

Star Ratings
As of March 2022, Video Librarian has changed from a four-star rating system to a five-star one. This change allows our reviewers to have a wider range of critical viewpoints, as well as to synchronize with Google’s rating structure. This change affects all reviews from March 2022 onwards. All reviews from before this period will still retain their original rating. Future film submissions will be considered our new 1-5 star criteria.
