Although some teens might dismiss environmental conservation as an adult problem, one of the young people interviewed for Easy Being Green points out that “if we don't take action…it's our future that we're risking.” Two engaging teenage hosts guide viewers through four chapters that introduce environmental issues and offer practical solutions. Plenty of interesting statistics are employed to drive home abstract concepts (a PlayStation or Xbox 360 left on 24/7, for instance, will consume as much energy as two refrigerators), while suggestions for taking action are usually demonstrated onscreen (such as a tutorial on properly inflating tires). After an introductory overview, the program zeroes in on three main areas: transportation (driving a car is the biggest polluting activity that Americans perform every day), conserving energy around the home, and the power drain of electronic appliances. Fun, fast-paced, practical, and informative, this is recommended. Aud: J, H, P. (E. Gieschen)
