In this latest addition to the Power Yoga series, instructor Mark Blanchard leads the seasoned yoga practitioner through the paces of a long and intense workout, accompanied by an original soundtrack of gentle music from Grammy Award winner Mark Portman. Guiding an onscreen group through postures designed to achieve inner balance, strength, and harmony, Blanchard's 90 minute marathon (which distractingly jumps between a classroom and outdoor setting for no apparent reason) certainly offers the committed, experienced yoga enthusiast bang for his or her buck. To accommodate viewers at all levels, beginner to advanced, the tape begins with a series of photographs that provide a quick illustration of the basic postures, before a list of tips flashes across the screen. Embracing Power Yoga challenges the intermediate and advanced student, but would likely be too challenging for a beginner. Previous titles in the series include: The Power Within, Power Yoga for Couples & Mixed Levels (VL-3/99), and Yoga Massage. Optional. Aud: P. (J. McDaniel)
