This practical and well-organized video is hosted by the engaging Bob Stuber, a national expert on child safety, and author of various books on the subject. Although geared towards children, this video is designed for parent education as well-to be safe, the whole family needs to be smart! Each topic is first introduced by Stuber, then followed by live-action sequences to reinforce the ideas, ending with a short review. Besides the usual common-sense tips (the "don't talk to strangers" variety), a wealth of practical instruction is given: how to escape from a car or building, attract attention when you need help, break a grip on your wrist, etc. The main idea is to "get away-right away," and parents are encouraged to discuss and practice these techniques with their kids. Rather than instilling paranoia, the goal is to empower and educate children to the real risks that surround them. Recommended. Aud: E, I, J, P. (E. Gieschen)

Star Ratings
As of March 2022, Video Librarian has changed from a four-star rating system to a five-star one. This change allows our reviewers to have a wider range of critical viewpoints, as well as to synchronize with Google’s rating structure. This change affects all reviews from March 2022 onwards. All reviews from before this period will still retain their original rating. Future film submissions will be considered our new 1-5 star criteria.
