Beware of fallen arches...and not just the ones on your feet. Due to erosion, Arches National Park in Utah is very much a "work in progress," with new arches being created at every moment and some old ones liable to collapse at any time. People unaccustomed to hiking will appreciate the sound advice this "user's guide" offers concerning the 2,000 natural stone formations in the park: which are the easiest trails, what to bring along (good shoes, water, and a camera), where to park and lodge. The video includes important information about the delicate nature of the park's environment, and an interesting history of the geology of the red sandstone formations and the petroglyphs left by early peoples. A nice bonus running throughout this informative and attractive video is the good tips on photographing the rocks for the best effect. Recommended, especially for libraries in the Southwest "Four Corners" area. Aud: P. (R. Reagan)

Star Ratings
As of March 2022, Video Librarian has changed from a four-star rating system to a five-star one. This change allows our reviewers to have a wider range of critical viewpoints, as well as to synchronize with Google’s rating structure. This change affects all reviews from March 2022 onwards. All reviews from before this period will still retain their original rating. Future film submissions will be considered our new 1-5 star criteria.
