No matter how much people are barraged with facts about good nutrition, many continue to frequent fast food restaurants, which are quick, cheap, and available everywhere (and visited on any given day by over a quarter of all Americans). To make the best of the situation, this well-produced and creative program, hosted by two friendly teens, explains the six “trouble spots” to watch out for when assembling those potentially not-so-happy meals, while also helping viewers understand the sometimes confusing ingredients in fast food and how they fit into a balanced diet. Fast Food Nutrition provides plenty of practical tips on how to keep your tray from turning into a nutrition disaster—going far beyond the usual “just order a salad”—offering onscreen examples and clever graphics. While a few specific restaurants are mentioned as being leaders in providing healthy menu options, the focus is on more general guidelines with tips regarding various types of cuisine. Highly recommended. Aud: J, H, P. (E. Gieschen)
