Analea McGarey, a registered physical therapist, is the host for this undistinguished, but competent, introduction to the art of massage. After a brief opening, McGarey demonstrates the basic strokes and techniques for massaging the back, legs, arms and hands, abdomen, neck and shoulders, and face. Throughout, the occasional suggestion taken from the Edgar Cayce readings is offered--but, for the most part, the program sticks close to the basics. Following the basic training in massage, McGarey instructs viewers on how to administer self-massages. This last section may be the most beneficial part of the video, since other and better programs on massage do not always include instruction on self-massage. Not a bad program, but not a necessary purchase either. (Available from: A.R.E., P.O. Box 595, Virginia Beach, VA 23451; 1-800-368-2727.)

Star Ratings
As of March 2022, Video Librarian has changed from a four-star rating system to a five-star one. This change allows our reviewers to have a wider range of critical viewpoints, as well as to synchronize with Google’s rating structure. This change affects all reviews from March 2022 onwards. All reviews from before this period will still retain their original rating. Future film submissions will be considered our new 1-5 star criteria.
