One can't expect Hollywood-style quality from Mom-and-Pop efforts, but this particular entry really strains a reviewer's goodwill. There is a definite need for information on how to rid pets, homes, and yards of pesky fleas; unfortunately, the most animated performer in this video is a yowling cat protesting her flea dip. The professional pet groomer shown in the first segment (administering said dip to said cat, as well as to a more sedate dog) uses the horribly unnecessary word ‘basically' more than 35 times in not as many minutes. What she shows is useful; how she presents it is enough to make any cat yowl. When the ‘action' moves to the home and yard, the narrator informs a by now somnambulant audience that they should carefully follow the instructions on the container of any ‘flea begone' product they use. Gee, save yourself 20 bucks and just read the labels, folks. Public libraries should consider this title only if there is a rampant flea epidemic in the neighborhood. Aud: P. (J. Carlson)

Star Ratings
As of March 2022, Video Librarian has changed from a four-star rating system to a five-star one. This change allows our reviewers to have a wider range of critical viewpoints, as well as to synchronize with Google’s rating structure. This change affects all reviews from March 2022 onwards. All reviews from before this period will still retain their original rating. Future film submissions will be considered our new 1-5 star criteria.
